Overview:
Do you want to learn how to develop and deliver effective training? Would you like to increase your confidence in the classroom? Would you like to learn new ways to engage your learners? This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge needed for effective training delivery.
Who should attend?
This generic course would be suitable for anyone who wants to develop or improve their presentation or training delivery skills for any subject specialism.
Aims:
The aim of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively plan, develop and deliver inclusive training sessions, provide learning support and take responsibility in managing the learning process within their own area of specialism.
Objectives:
Successful learners will be able to:

- Explain their own role, responsibilities and boundaries in relation to training
- Discuss different learning styles and preferences
- Use inclusive teaching and learning approaches
- Demonstrate their session planning skills
- Deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
- Use different assessment methods
- Evaluate the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning
Assessment:
Deliver a 20-30 minute micro teach session and provide written and verbal feedback to two peers.
Duration:
2 days (classroom based learning including delivery of micro teach assessment). There is additional time required for assimilation, consolidation and assessment planning and development (homework).
Cost:
£485 per person (based on a minimum of 4 learners per session).
Certification:
Successful candidates will receive a Professional Quality Certificate of Achievement.
Notes:
The course can be flexible to suit the needs of the learners (e.g. delivered over a shorter time frame, split across a few weeks, or re-focused to develop skills required for shop floor based training rather than classroom). There are no formal entry requirements. Candidates should possess a reasonable command of written and spoken English. There is no requirement for previous training experience and so the course may be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a training role.
